Storyline: Red All Over (2015) In the wake of today's most controversial issue of gun violence, a teen becomes the victim of his own urban planning. Red is somewhat of a pariah at school, socially withdrawn from his family and frustrated by his gritty urban surroundings. He longs for a better life if only he could control the things around him. Namely his embarrassing alcoholic father, recovering addict mother and a popular jock at school who is bullying him. His only true place of solitude is a journal he keeps. He writes haiku's and draws when he is seeking refuge from his reality. Traditionally, stories of gun violence focus on the victims. This film however, is told from both the victim and shooters point of view. Red All Over explores the easy access to guns in the inner city, the emotional journey Red takes before and after the shooting. Why he had a gun and felt the need to shoot anyone. It also outlines the impact bullying played in his life. The issue of gun violence is a political, moral and personal debate in our society. In this film we invite the audience both sides before choosing one.
